Niko + Changchang

Changchang, I always felt like we spent way too much of our life indoors, both in Berlin and in Prague.  Like our affinity for the indoors had something to do with being gay and feeling vulnerable, skeptical, and leery of public spaces where anything could (and did) happen to non-straight and non-binary people ALL THE FUCKING TIME.  It's like we burrowed ourselves inside temporary worlds of cafés, apartments, salons, libraries, and bookstores, constructing bunkers of our own invention and desire and performance, where our rules were the only ones that mattered and the rest of the world was a detached and distant audience separated by a barricade of prejudice and ignorance and privilege we were never allowed to cross.
